CLASSIC BUTTERMILK FRIED CHICKEN

This is a down home recipe that a friend of mine shared it to me and truly it never disappointed.the buttermilk marinade is terific and tenderizes the chicken to the best you can imagine.I you want the best results,being patient for the chicken to marinate well in the buttermilk is the go.SEE THE RECIPE BELOW.

                                 BUTTERMILK FRIED CHICKEN.

ingredients;
                  1&  1/2 cup buttermilk
                  1 tspn tumeric
                  1 tspn salt
                   1 tspn ground black pepper
                   1 tspn garlic powder
                   1 tspn organic ginger
                  6 chicken drumsticks
                  2 cups all purpose flour
                   oil for deep frying

                               METHOD
 1.  On a large bowl,mix together the buttermilk,tumeric,salt,pepper,garlic powder,organic ginger and whisk well to combine all ingredients.
 2. Add the chicken pieces and coat all over with the marinade.cover the bowl with cling film and marinate for 3-4 hours.
 3. When ready to cook,put the flour on a shallow dish and then transfer each marinated chicken drumstick into the dish.make sure each drumstick is coated all over with the flour.
 4. Heat oil in a large frying pan on medium -high heat until oil is hot but not burnt. Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and juices run clear. 
Place on a kitchen towel to dry and excess oil then serve with your favourite accompaniment.
